Meet The Massive Monkees
We asked the crew because they are known for having a smooth style.
We knew they are battle-tested, and would give it to us straight when we asked if
really stays on and feels good.
What makes the Massive Monkees world-famous has a lot to do with what they stand for. But the part they love as much as screaming fans, media attention and titles is their community outreach.
Formed in 1999 by two talented collectives - the Untouchable Style Monkees and Massive Crew - they quickly became one of the best, winning B-boy Summit in 2000. Growing up in South Seattle, they saw what dancing did for them; promote diversity, empower hard to reach kids, and form bonds that became family for life.
The difference has everything to do with a shared dedication to dancing. "Each one, teach one," was the belief they absorbed from the original pioneers. To this day, they still find time between practice, touring the world and starring in their own films to take part in violence prevention workshops in elementary schools throughout Washington. Their titles and prizes are many, but the recognition by the City of Seattle with a civic holiday, meant just as much to them.
